Madagascar Mica Quartz
In researching the origin and components of this strikingly beautiful stone, Miriam learned that Madagascar is the only country where the Mica component is seen along with Quartz, Feldspar and Dacite, hence its name: Madagascar Mica Quartz. Some vendors refer to the reddish-brown variety simply as Dacite. So far as we can determine, a black & gray version of this stone is geologically referred to as Andesite - and the two names are generally used interchangeably, whether the stones are reddish-brown or black-gray! We are using the name Madagascar Mica Quartz, as it is more descriptive of the stone's natural components. The stones Miriam uses are a lovely toasty brown with black Mica inclusions and beautiful peach quartz inclusions. Each stone's pattern is unique and exciting—like so many stones in Miriam's Private Gemstone Collection.
