Polychrome Desert Jasper is believed to be one of the rarest stones on the planet. It is distinguished by its vibrant earthy and natural multiple-colors—usually in circular, eye-shaped or landscape-like spheres of beautiful gray-greens, reds, tans and browns, and sometimes in purples and pinks. Teal or blue polychrome jasper is even more rare. It is mined only in small deposits in the Northern Coast of Madagascar, the same area as the currently mined-out Ocean Jasper.
The Old World Bronze™ Beads, Clasp and Connectors are handwrought using ancient methods of casting bronze that have been modernized by the Charveaux family of metalsmiths in Scottsdale, Arizona. Utilizing their carefully developed bronze formula, and the age-old “lost wax” method, each bronze bead is artistically designed and handcrafted.
- Full length of the necklace is approximately 19.25 inches, including the handwrought, textured bronze clasp and matching looped findings.
- The oval stones range from 30mm to 36mm.
- Bronze textured discs are handwrought by the skilled Scottsdale metalsmiths of Old World Bronze(TM).
- The small spacer beads are African hand-rolled brass.
- The necklace is strung on a strong but flexible antique bronze 0.024 49-strand stainless steel wire that is nylon coated.
