African Turquoise Nuggets & Bronze (BLGR-001)
African “Turquoise” is a stone mined in Africa that is spotted teal Jasper rather than turquoise. Its industry name probably comes from its light-to-deep turquoise color and black matrix, which is similar to turquoise. That said, African turquoise is beautiful in its own right – and has the advantage of being harder than turquoise. The natural African “Turquoise” in this necklace is smooth and has a satin-like feel. The textured bronze beads Miriam selected add a lovely antique expression to this one-of-kind necklace. As it ages, bronze develops a beautiful patina that enhances the individual character of each piece.
- Full length of the necklace is 20 inches, including the decorative bronze clasp.
- The African Turquoise stones nuggets range from 8x12mm to 9x10mm. The round stones are 4mm.
- The necklace is strung on a strong but flexible 0.024, 49-strand stainless steel wire coated in metallic colored nylon.
Bracelet and matching earrings are available by special order only.
