It is wire-wrapped in Sterling Silverwith Miriam’s Signature Swirl. Carved Sterling Silver tubes accent the necklace near its S-shaped Sterling Silver clasp. Moukaite is an exciting member of the jasper family mined only in Australia. It is distinguished by its vivid colorations that may range from opaque earth tones of golden yellows, terra cotta reds, deep burgundy wine, mauves and creams—to every shade in between. Some stones show striking patterns of more than one color! Other names used for this fabulous stone are Mookite, Mookaite Jasper, and Hicorite Jasper. The stones form in the erosion areas of mountains as a filler in cracks. The various colors come from the foreign material that make up the stone, such as sand, clay and iron.
