Miriam uses Old World Bronze™ beads because they are handcrafted using an old-world wax method. The Bronze is an exclusive recipe developed by the Charveaux family of metalsmiths in Scottsdale, Arizona. As it ages, bronze develops a beautiful patina that enhances the individual character of each piece.
Red Creek Jasper was discovered in the Cherry Creek Mine of Mainland China only five or six years ago. Each stone has amazing colors, with varied combinations of tans and browns, and sunset shades of mustard and golden yellows, olive and sage greens, teal, and russet-red. Randomly swirling around these fabulous colors are dark lightning-strike patterns which vary from piece to piece. Like most of Miriam's stone selections, no two stones are alike. That's one of the features that makes Miriam's designs so exciting. An interesting tidbit:Because of its "lightening-strikes," Red Creek Jasper (also called Cherry Creek Jasper) is sometimes referred to as Picasso Jasper—which is marble, not Jasper.
- Full length of the necklace is approximately 20 inches, including the sleek Old World Bronze(TM) Clasp.
- Red Creek Jasper round stones are 10mm.
- Focal Red Creek Jasper Barrel stones are approximately 11.5 x15mm
- Red Creek Jasper rondelle spacers are 2.5 x 6mm
- Six large tire-shaped Bronze spacers are 9-10mm; and the 8 smaller Bronze spacers are 8-9mm. The Clasp is also Bronze.
- Two saucer beads near the clasp are Antique Gold Plated Brass.
- he necklace is strung on a strong but flexible 0.019, 49-strand stainless steel wire that is metallic bronze nylon coated.
