Red Garnet
Garnets are amazing! In addition to the Red Garnets from Miriam’s Private Collection, Garnet varieties come in Green, Orange, Brown, Black, Blue, and Purple. Some Garnets are called Uvarovites, and change color from night to day. Garnets have been used for adornment and spirituality by myriad cultures and civilizations throughout history, their oldest known use being in Egypt more than five thousand years ago. According to the Talmud, the only light on Noah's ark was provided by a large Garnet. Today, Garnets are not only used as ornamental gems, but also for industrial purposes — from watch gears and scientific instruments to sandpaper and other abrasives. Metaphysical essence of Red Garnets: Truth, faith, passion, vibrance, resounding energy, and sensuality. Red Garnets have also been called the "Devine Feminine," and believed to inspire romantic love.

- Rhodolite Garnet is not truly a Garnet, but a combination of Almandine and Pryrope Garnets. Its stunning rose- and raspberry-red, purple-pink, or red color does not have any browntones. It was first discovered in North Carolina in the late 1890s. Today, its best source for very clear varieties is Tanzania, but other sources are Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Brazil, Myanmar, China, Kenya, Madagascar, Mozambique, and South Africa.
