Picasso Jaspers are opaque stones with natural dark, jagged stripes of black or brown on backgrounds of white, gray, or tan. Some of the stones Miriam chose have a subtle splash of sandy beige twisting through the grey background, which provides a rich texture to the beads. Miriam particularly likes the Picasso Jasper’s random and lightening-like patterns. Can you tell the difference between Zebra and Picasso Jaspers? They are very similar, and often confused. The difference is that the Black Streaks on Picasso Jaspers tend to be very random, while the Zebra Stripes are a thicker and have a grain appearance, and seem to wrap around the stones in a more circular pattern—just like they do on zebras!
